John and Sarah Kilmartin have been in charge of the English Martyrs since 1994. In their official capacity of Steward and Stewardess, they are in control of the day to day running of the club. John and Sarah are only the third management team to take charge since the club opened in 1973. Their predecessors - Mr Tommy Grogan and Mr Felix Harten - still pop into the club occasionally - probably to make sure that things are still running smoothly!

John took over the reins of Steward having spent the majority of his working life as a foreman within the construction industry - probably the best type of background for going into pub management!
John and Sarah are assisted by a team of professionally trained bar staff whom, amongst themselves, boast over 100 years experience in the bar trade.

Always on hand to help out whatever the occasion, John & Sarah have worked hard to not only maintain the high standards expected of the club, but have enhanced the overall profile of the English Martyrs. The Management Committee team are proud to have them as Steward and Stewardess.
